This picture depicts the transition of the Midwestern United States farmer. This picture was taken in 1938, at that time everything was done on the farm with manual labor, forks, shovels and the help of a couple oxen and later a team of horses.
This is my grandfather stacking wild hay on the still virgin prairie. The seeds on that hay were like little arrows with a three inch shaft. You could throw them like darts. When they got wet they turned into a cork screw and turned them selves into the earth. The horse is operating the hay stacking machine with a big rope. My dad was on top of the stack leveling the hay and making a uniform stack that will shed the snow and rain. My mother and brother might have been bringing lunch.
This was an era about to end, as the farmers started to acquire their first farm tractors. The farmer at that time was barely able to produced enough to sustain his own family and livestock, with some grain left over to sell on the market.
Fast forward to the year 2015. Farming with modern equipment, modern farming methods, new types of seed and fertilizer, they are producing huge quantities of food. One farmer feeding 155 people!

It is an old-time hay stacking device. It was a long apparatus, the hay was piled upon it, a long rope was attached to one end, the hay and the lifting section were raised up into the air, as a horse walks in the other direction pulling on a large rope. The hay is thrown up into the air and up on top of the hay stack, the person on top scatters it about with a pitchfork. That’s about all I can say about it. My dad was on the hay stack, my grandfather is on the ground giving the horse commands, when to pull the hay up into the air. There is no doubt another person there gathering the hay with a horse drawn dump rake and bringing it to the stacking device. A very simple but labor intensive process in those days, very primitive to the modern baling equipment of today.

O Leland, I could spend days in your blog if it was not for taking care of my own computer duties? You are so, so, like me–first computer–IBM also–1 5.25 floppy drive, 28 hooping bytes of ram and hard drive? Never entered my mind! $1200.00 macaroois! Software? Famous DOS and Wordperfect for Dos without any instructions. But I was fascinated with the whole mysterious thing and hungry to know all about it. How much money I spent in books and discs and such? I could be rather wealthy if I count that cost.
Anyhow, started putting old computers back in shape in 1995, since then I was hooked to no return. I did take some courses since 2005 but now, I Google everything. Free this or that is my favorite words. We have certainly came a long ways! These young computer Engeeneers have got nothing on us! ha ha! But I sure have a lot of fun with them!
BTW You know anything about Apache? Could use an expert to become one myself. I truly enjoy reading you up! Later!

Hello, you mentioned Apache, are you referring to a voice software program? I’m not familiar with Apache but I have one called Dragon Basic I think I’ve been using it for five years. It only costs $50 at Walmart, has worked great for me, very easy to use. My typing got to the point it was one finger hitting two or three keys at one time which was impossible to do anything, my left hand and arm are numb, about useless I was blogging by one finger typing before I got the Dragon program. I have to say it has worked great for me. I could not be sending this message to you right now, especially at this speed, taken me about a minute now. If I had been typing with one finger it would be sometime toward tomorrow morning and still be editing three key errors. But this is one for you to try, unless you already have Apache, I can look it up and see if I can figure out how it operates. I sure can spread my BS at a high rate of speed now!
Again, I enjoy reading your work, I download that book yesterday and will have to start taking some reading time. I never thought my little Mickey Mouse blog would have evolved to what it has become. I have a lot of people I should send replies to. I feel obligated, since they were good enough to check out my posts.

So that’s how u do it! I tried those voice programs before but they didn’t work for me.
Apache is a server like Godaddy, Bluehost, etc. Only Apache is free and it is the major server among them all. The main thing that I want it for is to tinker with my blogs offline.
That’s what Apache really is for, to experiment with your blogs or sites off line before you publish them. Just one more thing in my plate, whatever for? I don’t know.
Right now I am working on converting to iPads and such in Dreamweaver. I do my sites in WordPress but, I only discovered WordPress lately, I am an old time Dreamweaver builder. O well, just something I like doing.
As far as the publishing thing? I am doing good on my own. For a while there, I thought I’ll do the marketing thing but, that’s just not for me.
I rather ask for donations which is not mandatory. My only desire is for people to read & benefit from what Father gives me for all.
I have my reward when I get to correspond with the likes of Leland, Kally et all! That’s all folks! đŸ™‚

I guess I have been living too far out in the sticks I am not familiar with iPads and these other products that you have mentioned. They are all foreign to me, I’ve been out of the loop for a while to. I thought of getting an iPad for when I’m away from home.
I started doing some blogging@helium.com a few years ago and that went under it just dissolved and that was the end of Helium as we knew it. This last year I blogged a little while on Thoughts.com. One day I went to login and I could no longer log in to Thoughts.com. That is when I discovered WordPress, I really like how it is easy to work with, but naturally it’s in the back of my mind that this will come to an end too. Here today gone tomorrow seems to be the name of the game on this Internet business.
Where does a person send a donation to you, for sharing some of your very well written words about life here and in eternity? Your style is ‘slightly different’ but that is the Creators wish for you, as I see it. It does look like it gets the job done for you and for our Master. That is the name of the game as far as I’m concerned.

Well, I’been tinkering with computers since 1984 but, only in 2005 I was jolted down by a comment about my master pieces that I thought my sites to be. A young fellow from Bangladash informed me in a very direct & precise way, he said, “Your sites are ancient!” WHAT? I got busy and eventually took a course on WordPress.com plus several other courses that brought me up to date with all of such of confusing & trying commontion as the Net is!
Not to worry, you ain’t missing anything at all! I love your blog!
Back I go to my own frustrations–maybe today? Well, everyday, new mercies I see. So, I’m looking forward to this day. đŸ™‚
