Say Your Name
Write about your first name: Are you named after someone or something? Are there any stories or associations attached to it? If you had the choice, would you rename yourself?
I was told at one time that I was named after a popular Circuit Court Judge who served on the bench in our part of the state when I was born. I am quite happy with the name Leland. I have had to repeat it most of my life over the phone. I either lisp or the name Leland come out crosswise, right from my own lips. I have gotten accustomed to using the name so I do believe I will keep it. It doesn’t look like going through the troubles of renaming myself would be worthwhile, changing required paperwork deletes that thought quickly. Interesting to read your name originates from England – it’s not a common name – I like names a bit different. When I read your name it makes me think of British Leyland – spelt differently – British Leyland was a huge car manufacturers 😁

I like your name as well. I was named after the saint for the day. My father had that Catholic tradition so? I was born on Saint Basilio’s day. He was a bishop canonized a saint for whatever they get to be canonized. Anyhow? The meaning: ‘Belongs to the highest royalty–the royalty of God’. Since I found that out? I behave like a queen! Hahaha! Be sweet and all that your name entitles you to be! 🙂

Dear SaintThia Basilio, it is good to hear from you. I never knew a Saint so am honored to know you. I always knew you had a Royal line, now don’t take that wrong.
I have had a awful time getting my strength back after my little hospital stay.They poured so many antibiotics through me, wiped out all the good bugs along with the bad. Modern medicine at work. My brother had a quadruple bypass the same time I was in the hospital he is having an awful time getting recuperated.
I have visited your site and try to do some reading. I can’t seem to read for long and everything gets blurry for me. I wish I had taken some lessons on how to live in this over the hill club. The Lord continues to give me the strength that I need to keep going, one day at a time, not just leading me, now carrying me around too, a load for him to bear.
